Do you provide service in the cities of Northfield or Owatonna?

Unfortunately no, I do not currently provide service in Northfield or Owatonna. I've tried to keep my travel times short and since I live in Faribault driving back and forth to Northfield or Owatonna two to three times per day doesn't seem feasible right now. Maybe someday I will hire another pet sitter to cover the Northfield or Owatonna areas but for now it's just me.

Do you provide service a few miles outside of Faribault?

Most of my pet sitting coverage area is within Faribault city limits, however there are a few areas outside the boundaries of Faribault that I will cover without addition charge. Generally, if you live within a mile of city limits, you may live in my service area. If you live more than one mile from city limits, it is likely that I either don't cover your area or will charge an extra $10 per visit to come to your home. Please give me a call or send me an e-mail if you would like to know where you fall in my service area. For more details, please see our Services & Rates page.

Do you board pets at your home?

I am unable to board your pets at my home at this time. Due to the size of my home (small) and the number of pets I already have we're really all full.

Does our pet come to your house or do you come to our house?

I come to your house! That way your pet gets to stay in their own familiar environment which is comfortable and less stressful for them than changing surroundings. Also, due to the number of pets I already have in my small house I can't fit any more!

How much does it cost to have you pet sit?

The amount you pay depends on a number of factors like the type of pet or pets that you have, the number of pets that you have, and how many times each day you need me to visit. For instance:

If you have,
3 cats = $15 per visit for first 2 cats + $2 per visit for the third cat
If the cats need one visit per day, your total would be $17 per day.
If the cats need two visits per day, your total would be $34 per day.

If you have,
1 dog = $15 per visit
If your dog needs two visits per day, your total would be $30 per day.
If your dog needs three visits per day, your total would be $45 per day.

I do also charge sales tax which would be in addition to the charges listed above. For more details on my pricing please see my Services & Rates page.

Will you care for pets that are diabetic?

First, you should know that I have no current experience with diabetic animals. I've done my homework and know what is involved in their care and am always willing to learn. I will not, however, care for diabetic cats as they are generally much more sensative to their insulin shots and need to be monitored very closely.

I will consider on a case-by-case basis caring for diabetic dogs. Your dog can not be recently diagnosed (within the last year) and must be able to have their shots between 8am and 9pm (these are my business hours). Your dog must be able to sit calmly for their injections.

For diabetic dog care, I ask that we schedule a few extra visits before you leave town: one visit so you can demonstrate giving the insulin shot and I can watch; a second visit so I can give the insulin shot while you are present; and at least one more visit where you leave the house and I visit and give the shot without you home but with you still nearby. I will charge for these visits even if I don't end up caring for your pet. In addition to these visits, I may ask that you pay for 45 minute visits when shots are to be given as opposed to the standard 30 minute visits. This will allow me to have the extra time to give your pet their shot and still have time for the standard exercise, food, and affection given at each visit. Visits that are 45 minutes long will be charged at a rate of $22.50 per visit.

Will you care for elderly pets?

Absolutely! I am always willing to consider caring for elderly pets or pets with special physical needs. This will ultimately be decided by you and me after discussing the pet's needs and determining if my services are a good fit for your pet's particular situation.

Do you care for hobby farm animals such as horses, sheep, or chickens?

No, I do not currently care for farm animals of any kind. I have very limited experience with farm animals and so do not feel confident that I could give them the care they deserve to have while you are away.

Will you perform overnight visits in my home?

No, I do not currently perform overnight visits.
